Minutes matter
Every minute of notice helps. DEV.B has two clear warning levels, designed to be loud and visible even on silent.
Fewer false alarms
Reports are checked by people nearby before an alert is raised. One tap, yes or no. This reduces mistakes and false alarms; it cannot remove them entirely.
Nothing to install but the app
No sirens, towers or control rooms are required. It is built for cheap, older phones and can pass alerts phone to phone over Bluetooth when there is no signal.

Every phone that installs DEV.B helps carry alerts to the phones around it. Coverage depends on how many people nearby have the app.

Phone-to-phone relay over Bluetooth mesh, with internet and SMS used whenever they are available.
How it works

One red button. Four steps. No reading required.

Each stage has its own colour, shape and sound, so it is understood by children, elders, people who cannot read the language and people who are colour blind.

  1. 01
You see danger. You press the button.
Pick the hazard: flood, landslide, fire, dam or building collapse. Add a photo if you can. Only your approximate location is shared, never your name.
  2. 02
    Neighbours confirm it.
Phones nearby ask "Do you see it?" with the distance to the report. Green to confirm, grey to decline. Several confirmations are needed before the warning level rises.
  3. 03
    Be ready.
Amber screen, triangle, two-tone chime. Pack water and papers, charge your phone, and know where you would go.
  4. 04
    Danger confirmed.
Red screen, octagon, siren, vibration. Several people nearby have confirmed the danger. Follow your local authorities, and tap "I'm safe" to let people nearby know.
For agencies, NGOs and partners

Community warning for a district without new hardware

DEV.B is free for residents. Agencies and partners can bring it to a new area without buying hardware.

Disaster agencies
Work with us to add local shelters and your language, and reach residents directly on the phones they carry. It complements official sirens and SMS systems; it does not replace them.
NGOs and donors
Fund community training and relay phones for a region rather than infrastructure. Each phone added can extend coverage for the people around it.
Telecoms and tech
Zero-rate the app, carry the SMS fallback, or pre-install it on low-cost devices.
Bring DEV.B to your area

Install it before you need it.

Free, and works without internet. Then tell your neighbours: the more phones nearby, the further a warning can travel.
